THE ROLE
This important executive position is unique, fast paced and rewarding. We are looking for a leader who has proven skills to lead and execute on vision through strategic business and operational plans. The President & CEO is results-oriented, with exceptional business acumen and a compelling ability to demonstrate an organization’s value to stakeholders. The successful candidate, working closely with the Board of Directors, will act as a key influencer, collaborator and lead communicator on behalf of the CCC’s membership in Canada and globally.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
provide vision and collaborative leadership, in partnership with the Board of Directors, for the strategic direction of the CCC and the sustainable growth of the Canadian canola industry;
accountability for the management, operations and administration of the CCC, including leading and empowering a high performing team of professionals;
promote positive and progressive business relationships with all stakeholders, including members, growers, governments, other sector organizations and consumers in North America and globally;
act as key influencer on behalf of the Canadian canola sector, advancing on Canadian agriculture and agri-food opportunities and challenges, including trade policy and trade negotiations, value added, sustainability, regulatory policy, research and innovation; and,
provide an informed and inspiring voice to communicate the CCC’s messages and mandates throughout the Canadian agri-food sector and globally.
QUALIFICATIONS
post-secondary education including a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in agriculture and / or business; MBA or Master’s degree in agriculture / or related disciplines considered an asset;
strong ability to translate a vision into action; identify, assess and address industry opportunities and challenges;
financial and general management skills, with experience in strategic business planning and implementation;
team builder with human resource experience that energizes and engages staff to high performance standards;
significant communicator, with proven ability to facilitate and share ideas; facilitate consensus across different perspectives;
broad knowledge of the agri-business industry, and specific knowledge of the canola industry is an asset;
leadership qualities, professionalism, integrity and sound judgement essential; and,
ability to travel domestically and globally as required.
Salary commensurate with experience, qualifications and ability.
